Safeguarding

Safeguarding

Dukesgate Academy is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. We expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.

We have a number of policies and procedures in place that contribute to our safeguarding commitment, including our Safeguarding Children and Child Protection Policy. All our policies are available to view on our Policies page.

Sometimes we may need to share information and work in partnership with other agencies, when there are concerns about a child's welfare. We will ensure that our concerns about our pupils are discussed with parents/carers first, unless we have reason to believe that such a move would be contrary to the child's welfare.

We actively support the Government's Prevent Agenda to counter radicalism and extremism.

Our Designated Safeguarding Lead is Mrs Kate Smith. Our Deputy Designated Safeguarding Leads are Mrs Lisa Robinson (Vice Principal) and Mrs Amanda Eldridge (Principal). The Governor with responsibility for safeguarding in our school in Ms Judith Richens (Chair of Governors).

Salford City Council's multi agency hub, The Bridge Partnership, can be contacted on 0161 603 4500.

If a child is in immediate danger or at risk of harm, telephone the police using 999.

school. If you do not wish photographs of your child to be used for these purposes, then please contact the Head teacher.

Internet Safety

It is very important that everyone stays safe whilst online. We have provided a link to the CEOP site below which is packed full of information for children and parents/carers.

Children are taught about e-safety in their Computing lessons from when they first start school and we develop their knowledge and understanding as they move through the school. Whilst we do all that we can to ensure the safety of children on the internet, it's essential that parents continue this at home.

If you or anyone you know is worried about child exploitation, online protection or anything related to internet safety, please click the image below which will take you to the CEOP reporting website:
