Parent Communication
At Dukesgate, we think it is important that we have good relationships with our parents and work in partnership for the benefit of the children. Here are some of the ways you can communicate with us:
- Call in at the office and speak to Mrs Hardman.
- Speak to your child’s class teacher at the start or end of the day, they’ll either see you then or make arrangements for a longer chat if necessary. This can be arranged at the office or with the teacher.
- Telephone school and speak to us directly or leave a message – we will return your call. Tel: 0161 799 2210
- Send us an email at office@dukesgateacademy.co.uk
- Attend the Parents’ Evenings
- Fill out the Parent Questionnaires
- When you have read your child’s end of year report, complete the feedback form that accompanies it.
- Visit the Ofsted Parent View website.
Arbor App
At Dukesgate we use the Arbor App , which is an effective way for us to communicate with you and keep you informed.By logging in, you will be able to see and update your child's information and book a range of services through the app, alongside your child's attendance data.
The Abor App can be used for:
- Updating personal information.
- Giving consent for trips and clubs.
- Making cashless payments for meals, trips, clubs and school events.
- Communicating with school via the message centre - e.g, reporting absences, requesting a meeting.
- Booking parent's evening slots when these are available.
The Arbor App works on Google Chrome using a laptop or computer and the Arbor App can be downloaded to a mobile device from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store (Android 5.0, iOS 10.0 and upwards). To use the Arbor App you must have registered an email address on your child’s records. If you haven’t done this yet, please contact Mrs Hardman, so we can add this on and get you set up. When you have received your welcome email, you are required to set a password before logging into the app for the first time. This can be done by clicking 'forgot password', where you will be emailed a link to input your chosen password.
If you have any difficulties downloading the app, getting started or using the app, plase speak to Mrs Hardman.
