EYFS curriculum

Pupils in the Nursery and Reception classes follow the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum which covers the following areas:

  • Communication and language
  • Maths
  • English
  • Knowledge and understanding of the world
  • Physical development
  • Expressive art and design
  • Personal, social and emotional development

Pupils are organised into groups with a designated key person and learn through a mixture of targeted support in investigative play. We teach phonics and counting skills from the very beginning, and children have access to exciting outdoor spaces and challenges which continue to develop these skills.

Parental involvement is very important to us, and parents are encouraged to stay and play with their child or to join in with library and reading sessions. We also enjoy social events, such as Family Breakfasts as well as Class Assemblies to share our learning with our families.
