At Dukesgate, we pride ourselves on offering an education which develops the whole child and puts a good emphasis on what many consider to be the basics. We aim for every child to reach their full potential, regardless of their academic ability and channel our resources into ensuring this happens.
We believe that children learn best when given interesting and challenging work which is carefully matched to their abilities and interests. We aim to include what we consider “rich learning opportunities” or hands-on activities which motivate and inspire curiosity in our learners.
It is important that children achieve well, but we are also concerned that they learn how to consider the impact of their actions upon others and develop socially, morally and emotionally as well as physically and academically. Our curriculum is organised to promote these aims, with cooperation, respect and resilience at the heart of what we teach.
